⚖️ How Paw Sweet Paw Handled It

In the days after BuBu’s death, we hoped that Paw Sweet Paw would take accountability — that they would cooperate, release the CCTV footage, and show genuine remorse for what happened under their care. Instead, what followed was silence, denial, and attempts to erase the truth.

When I demanded the CCTV footage, the manager, Dani, promised to send it “soon.”
He never did.
Days passed, weeks passed — and despite multiple requests, I never saw a single second of video from the day BuBu was attacked. Later, they even falsely claimed the footage was under review or unavailable, while refusing to share it with the police or with me directly.

At one point, Dani quietly repeated the same words that still echo in my mind:

“Whatever happens in there, we’re not responsible. You signed the waiver.”

That sentence summed up their attitude — a complete disregard for life, responsibility, or compassion.

Even worse, after BuBu’s death, Dani seemed more concerned about money than about BuBu’s life.
He called repeatedly to discuss hospital costs and transfers, despite knowing we had already paid the full emergency bill at RISE ER.
Money was never a concern for us — saving BuBu was.
But for them, it seemed to be the only thing that mattered.

Soon after, the owner, Terry, publicly posted on Nextdoor, writing a fabricated version of events — claiming BuBu was “old,” “sick,” and “not supposed to be in the play yard,” and that the staff only allowed her in to “please the owner.”
It was a lie — and he knew it.
So many people were shocked by his words that they took screenshots before he deleted the post.
Hundreds of neighbors reached out privately, sharing their disbelief and outrage. Some even revealed that their own dogs were hurt, sickened, or traumatized at the same facility.

Every time I tried to share BuBu’s story publicly, the post would mysteriously disappear.
Yelp reviews were deleted.
Nextdoor posts were removed repeatedly.
Yet people kept messaging me — saying they saw what happened, took screenshots, and saved the evidence before it vanished.

Even after everything, they fabricated a story that I had “insisted” BuBu should play with other dogs — another lie meant to shift blame and cover negligence. Anyone who knew BuBu’s personality and how careful I always was would know how absurd that claim was.

Over time, through the official investigation and through other families’ accounts, we discovered the truth:
Three dogs — including BuBu — have lost their lives at Paw Sweet Paw.
Two deaths are officially documented, and another, though never formally reported, happened quietly — to a young, healthy six-year-old retriever boy at their other Irvine location.
It wasn’t an isolated tragedy. It was a pattern.

What should have been a moment for truth and reflection became a campaign of avoidance and erasure. Instead of taking responsibility, they focused on protecting their business image — even as my family mourned the loss of our little girl.

But the truth lives on — through BuBu’s story, through the police report, and through every person who saw what really happened and refused to let it be forgotten.

And still… the business continues — under the wrong people, running the wrong kind of business, for the wrong reasons.

How Paw Sweet Paw Responded to the Community

After hundreds of neighbors spoke out on Nextdoor, the owner of Paw Sweet Paw blamed BuBu’s age and healthinstead of taking responsibility.
He fabricated details and minimized what happened — even after two dogs officially died and another young, healthy dog died quietly at their other Irvine location.
Doctors confirmed BuBu’s death was purely caused by traumatic injuries.
